Hong Kong family friendly restaurants with high chairs

Mozzee-Nest-High ChairIf you live in, or traveled through,  Hong Kong with little ones,  “child friendly” are probably not the first words that spring to mind when describing Asia’s World City. Maneuvering a stroller along overcrowded streets (that seem to have magical stair-generating-capabilities), negotiating your way up/down escalator-only entrances,  finding baby changing facilitates and booking a restaurant with a high chair are struggles we’ve all been through, whilst wondering Why does it have to be this hard?

This is a city that caters to bankers, fashionistas and mainland shoppers before it does to mamas, so it’s best to rely on word of mouth recommendations from the Hong Kong mummy brigade.

After two poor family dining experiences during which we confidently arrived in chain restaurants that we knew had high chairs in one location only to find out that was not true of all locations, I decided to reach out to the Hong Kong Mothers group and ask for the names of Hong Kong restaurants that have high chairs.

Hopefully this list will help a lot of others out there living in, or just passing through our city. This is not of course an exhaustive list and many top hotels will most likely have high chairs. Please note however that it is always best to call in advance as many places only have a few high chairs and it is recommended to book one.

Also, and very importantly, do not assume that all venues under the same brand have the same facilities. For example Oolaa on Star Street does not offer high chairs, even though the Bridges Street venue is a family favourite. We have also seen the same with Berliner and other chains. Apparently the owners do not believe in brand continuity, so beware.
